News & Events

A sincere THANK YOU to those who attended the MTCC Spring Statewide Meeting where we unveiled and celebrated the new 2016-2021 Montana Comprehensive Cancer Control (CCC) Plan.

We had a record 95 attendees with 30 of those attendees being brand new to the organization! The energy was electric as meeting attendees heard words of encouragement, support and congratulations from Montana’s Lieutenant Governor Jim Cooney, the new director of the office of American Indian Health Mary Lynne Billy-Old Coyote, as well as the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services Medical Director Dr. Greg Holzman. We also heard updates and a call-to-action from MTCC Implementation Team leadership for the recruitment of additional members to begin the work on strategies within the new 5-year plan. The MTCC leadership also announced the many successes that the coalition has achieved throughout the past five years and the importance of the partnership needed for the work ahead.

With that, the Montana Cancer Coalition is always looking for those that are passionate and driven to reduce cancer incidence, morbidity, and mortality in Montana. Interested in getting more involved with the coalition? Know someone who would make a great addition to the MTCC? Please contact Montana Cancer Coalition manager Nikki Campbell at [email protected] for more information on how to become a member and to get onto our distribution list. This is to ensure that you will always be up-to-date on happenings within the coalition as well as events taking place around our great state. You can also visit our website to find out more information about the coalition and the work that we do. Please pardon the construction as we are working towards the additional unveiling of a brand new website later this summer!

Lastly, don’t forget to save the date for the MTCC Fall Statewide Meeting on Tuesday October 18th in Helena! More details to come.

Here’s to continuing our work in ‘Changing the State of Cancer’ in Montana!

All the best,

Nikki Campbell
